What Is the Auto Activity Start Feature on My D2 Air Series Watch?

Your D2™ Air or D2™ Air X10 watches have an Auto Activity Start feature1 which allows the watch to create and save timed activities automatically when the Move IQ feature detects you are walking or running. You can set the minimum time threshold for running to 1, 2, or 3 minutes and walking to 5, 10, or 15 minutes. Activities will display in your activity history in your Garmin Connect™ account and will include the time leading up to the minimum threshold that has been set plus any continuous running or walking time detected after the minimum threshold.

What Are the Requirements for Auto Activity Start?

If you have a situation where a running or walking activity is not being recognized, ensure the following:

  • Exercise must be continuous and last at least the minimum threshold that has been set

  • Exercise must be running or walking

  • The watch is being worn on the wrist

  • Move IQ and Auto Activity Start are both enabled in Garmin Connect
