Connecting a Raymarine SeaTalk to a Garmin Chartplotter
Raymarine devices use a proprietary communication system called SeaTalk and will require an adapter sold by Raymarine to convert the SeaTalk information into an NMEA protocol.
To Receive NMEA 0183 from a Raymarine Device
PC-SeaTalk-NMEA Interface Box (part number E85001) is used to connect the Garmin chartplotter and the Raymarine instruments. Raymarine has discontinued this cable. Contact Raymarine for what parts are needed.
To Receive NMEA 2000 from a Raymarine Device
SeaTalk to NMEA 2000 Interface Cable is used to connect to the NMEA 2000 backbone to share data with the Garmin chartplotter and the Raymarine instruments. This cable will install from the E-Series display to the NMEA 2000 backbone.
Users will need to work with Raymarine to ensure that the settings of the instrument are correct for communication.
