Deleted Data Reappearing on the Map After Syncing With Earthmate or inReach Sync

If you delete data from the Map page of the Garmin Explore™ website, and it eventually reappears, it is likely that same data is still on the device and being transferred back to the account through inReach® Sync or Earthmate® app. Data consists of waypoints, routes, and tracks.

To prevent this from happening, the data needs to be deleted from both the Map page and the associated inReach device. Steps for both are below.

IMPORTANT: Following these steps permanently deletes the data, and it will no longer be in the Garmin Explore account or the inReach device.

Deleting Data From the Garmin Explore Website and inReach Device

Deleting Data on the Garmin Explore Website

  1. Log in to the Garmin Explore website.

  2. Select Map.

  3. Select Waypoints, Tracks or Routes under Library.

  4. Select the item to be deleted.

  5. Click Trash Can Icon Delete.

Once finished deleting the data on the website, you need to delete it from the inReach device.
