My Automotive Device Doesn't Speak Street Names
Garmin automotive GPS devices that have the ability to speak street names are also loaded with prerecorded voices that do not speak street names (e.g. "Turn right in 500 feet").
If one of these prerecorded voices has been selected, the voice prompts will not speak street names.
To Change the Voice Language on Your Device:
- Touch Settings
- Touch Navigation
- Touch Route Preferences
- Touch Voice Language
- Touch the desired voice
- Select a voice labeled Speaks Garmin Real Directions. If you do not see any voice language options with this label, you will need to download additional voice languages from Garmin Express.
The device will now give directions with street names in the selected voice language.
