Forerunner or Edge 205/305 Reporting GPS Version 0.00
If your device has stopped acquiring satellites, or will not show speed/pace or distance, and the AutoLocate has not helped, it may need to have the GPS software reloaded.
How to Check Your GPS Software Version:
Turn device on.
Go to main menu.
Select Settings.
Select System (Edge 205/305 only).
Select General.
Select About Edge/Forerunner.
If the GPS chipset shows 0.00, a reinstallation will be necessary.
How to Reinstall the Software:
NOTE: This process can only be completed on a Windows computer.

Select your device model above to locate correct software version.
Select Run.
Select Run again, if a security warning appears.
Connect your device to a computer using the USB cable.
Follow on-screen instructions for installing the software.
Confirm GPS software version has changed.
Once your device is reporting the correct GPS software version for your device, you will be able to acquire satellites and get speed, pace, and distance.
