Why Did I Not Earn the Frosty Badge or Toasty Badge for My Activity?

The frosty or toasty badge in your Garmin Connect™ account is earned for recording a GPS outdoor activity with a Garmin watch or Edge® cycling computer when the temperature is less than or equal to 31° F/-1° C (Frosty) and greater than or equal to 100° F/38° C (Toasty).

The temperature is displayed in the upper right corner of the map for activities uploaded to Garmin Connect and is recorded at the start of an activity using the closest local weather service station. See related content below for more details on this feature.

NOTE: If GPS is not acquired on the Garmin watch or Edge computer, you will not meet the requirements for either badge.

Many Garmin devices include a built-in temperature sensor that will report data to Garmin Connect. This information is not used for this badge because temperature sensors in the watch can be influenced by body heat and the device being in direct sunlight. This can cause the watch temperature to be higher than what is being reported by the weather service.
