Communication Issues Between a 600/700 series Rino and an Older Generation Rino

If an older generation Rino® handheld will not communicate with a Rino 610, 650, 650t, 655t, 700, 750, 750t, or 755t handheld, it is likely the Squelch Tone Mode is set to DSC. Once the setting is changed to CTCSS, the Rino 600/700 series handheld will be able to communicate with the older Rino handhelds. Older generation Rino handhelds include:

  • Rino 110, 120, 130

    • NOTE: While the Rino 100 series and Rino 600/700 series devices allow radio communication, they do not keep a stable connection for the location or contact features.

  • Rino 520 and 530

  • Rino 520HCx and 530HCx
