What Are the Wi-Fi Requirements for an Index Smart Scale Series?
The Index™ Smart Scale series communicate with compatible Wi-Fi® networks to send fitness information to your Garmin Connect™ account. In order to sync with Garmin Connect, an initial Wi-Fi setup must be performed. For a basic overview of the setup procedure, refer to Setting up an Index Smart Scale.
What Requirements Does My Wi-Fi Network Need to Meet?
Your Wi-Fi network must meet the following requirements to be compatible:
NOTE: Garmin Product Support is unable to provide assistance for making changes to your network. If assistance is needed contact your network provider.
Supported Frequency: 2.4 GHz only
Supported Protocols: 802.11 ac, b, g or n (802.1x is not supported)
Supported Channels: Channels 1-11 only
Security: Unencrypted, WPA, and WPA2
Passwords for encrypted networks must meet an 8 character minimum in length
Networks with a hidden SSID are not supported
I Am Having Wi-Fi Connection Issues
If you have verified your network compatibility and configuration as listed above, below are some further suggestions you can try:
Ensure the scale is within range of your Wi-Fi network.
Attempt to connect to a different available Wi-Fi network such as a personal Wi-Fi hotspot.
Additional carrier fees may apply. Check with your service provider if you have any questions.
Restart your phone (if connecting via the Garmin Connect™ app).
Reset your Wi-Fi router. This can generally be done by unplugging the router for 30 seconds, then plugging back in.
