Calculating Trip Information Without Logging a Track in Earthmate App

Trip information can be calculated without logging a track in the Earthmate® app1 by turning off the Log Interval and Send Interval both in the app and on the paired inReach® device. When tracking is started in Earthmate app with the steps below, current track details will be visible despite no track being recorded on the map.

Recording Trip Information Without Logging a Track in Earthmate App


Step 1: Turn Off Log and Send Intervals in Earthmate

  1. Open the Earthmate app.

  2. Select Three Dots (Android™) or More (iPhone®/iPad®).

  3. Select Settings (Android) or Options (iPhone/iPad).

  4. Select Tracking.

  5. Select Send Interval > Off.

  6. Select Log Interval > Off.


Step 2: Turn Off Log and Send Intervals on inReach Device

  1. Select Settings.

    inReach Mini users: Select Setup from main menu.

  2. Select Tracking.

  3. Select Log Interval > Off.

  4. Select Send Interval > Off.

For further assistance turning off Log and Send Intervals, consult the owner's manual of your specific inReach device.


Step 3: Start Tracking in Earthmate App

  1. For iPhone®/iPad® touch Tracking, or for Android™ touch Three Dots then touch Tracking.

  2. Tap Start.


With the steps above completed, current track details will be viewable on Earthmate app and the inReach device.
