Software Updates for Alpha T20 and Alpha TT25 Collars

The Alpha® T 20 and Alpha® TT 25 series collars can have their software updated via Wi-Fi or through Garmin Express™ software (see related content below for Garmin Express instructions).


Updating Software On Your Collars

There are two methods available to setup the Wi-Fi on your collar if you choose that method. 

  • Setup collar's Wi-Fi through the handheld1
    1. From the Dog List select the collar for which you want to setup the Wi-Fi
    2. In the lower right, select the menu icon (3 horizontal lines)
    3. Select Collar Wi-Fi Setup
    4. You will see a prompt that the collar is scanning for nearby networks
    5. Select the network to which you want your collar to connect and enter the password
    6. Select the green check mark when you're finished entering the password
  • Setup collar's Wi-Fi2 through Garmin Express™ Software
    1. Connect your collar to your Windows or Mac computer
    2. Open Garmin Express program
    3. Choose Add Device if you have not already done so
    4. You are prompted to enter an email address if you want to register your collar
    5. Select Next
    6. Choose a Nickname for your collar (helpful to use an identifying name if you have multiple collars) and select Next
    7. If you see a network already listed your collar is already setup, if not select Add a New Network
    8. Choose a network from those available and complete the process

Software updated through Wi-Fi will be done when the collar is on the charger and has a good Wi-Fi signal. The update process over Wi-Fi may take 30-45 minutes.

When the software update process takes place the collar LED will flash white indicating that it is installing the software update.
