How to Connect the Approach R10 to The Golf Club 2019 SimLink App

The Golf Club 2019 (TGC2019) SimLink App is a third-party service available for you to simulate rounds of golf with your Approach® R10 portable golf launch monitor. You will be able to play virtual rounds using photorealistic courses from home whenever you want.

IMPORTANT: TGC2019 is currently in the process of being removed from storefronts and some features may no longer be available. For more information, see The Golf Club 2019 -Time To Say Goodbye.

Requirements

  • TGC2019 software is installed on your computer

  • Compatible Smartphone

  • Approach R10 monitor paired to Garmin Golf™ app, see steps below

  • The Garmin Golf™ app must be running in the background in order for the SimLink app to connect to the Approach R10 monitor

  • The phone needs to be on the same Wi-Fi® network as the computer

  • If your computer has multiple network connections (i.e. hardwired and wireless) you will have to enter the correct IP address


How to Find Your IP Address in Windows

  1. Select Start or the Windows icon in your task bar.

  2. Select Settings or the gear icon.

  3. Select Network & Internet.

  4. Select Wi-Fi.

  5. Select the Wi-Fi network you are connected to.

  6. Under Properties, look for your IP address listed next to IPv4 address. 


Connecting to The Golf Club 2019 SimLink App

The app is intended to be used to connect your Garmin Approach golf launch monitor to a Windows computer running The Golf Club 2019 Simulator version.


Connecting the Garmin Approach R10 Monitor With Garmin Golf App

To use the Approach R10® golf launch monitor, you must pair it with the Garmin Golf app.

  1. From the app store on your smartphone, install and open the Garmin Golf app.

  2. Bring your smartphone near your Approach.

  3. Press the power button to turn on your Approach.
    TIP: You can hold the button while the device is off until the status LED turns solid blue to manually enter pairing mode. The first time you turn on the golf launch monitor, it automatically enters pairing mode, and the status LED is solid blue.

  4. On the Garmin Golf app select Profile.

  5. Select My Devices.

  6. Select Add Device.

  7. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish the pairing process.


Connecting The Golf Club 2019 SimLink App

  1. Make sure your phone is on the same Wi-Fi network as the computer.

  2. Open the TGC Simulator Console.

  3. Tap Connect to TGC for the app to search and try to connect with TGC2019.

After successfully connecting make sure the Approach R10 monitor is flashing green. If this is not the case, press the button on the back of the Approach to power it off, and then again to power it back on. 


Troubleshooting the Connection to The Golf Club 2019 SimLink App

  • Make sure Bluetooth® on your smartphone is turned on

  • Confirm the TGC2019 SimLink app has permission to use Bluetooth®

  • Verify the Approach R10 golf launch monitor is not connected to a different device

    • Try holding down the button on the back of the Approach R10 monitor until it is solid blue and connect the Approach R10 monitor again by following the steps above .

  • Ensure sure the Garmin Approach R10 monitor is in range and turned on
