(2020) Service Bulletin 20142 Rev A: Resistive Fuel Senders interfaced to a GEA 24 with the GI 275 AML STC Installations

PRODUCTS AFFECTED:

Aircraft modified with GI 275 AML STC SA02658SE, MDL Revision 8 or earlier and interfaced to the GEA 24 with resistive fuel senders that are less than or equal to 100 ohms range are affected.

CERTIFICATION AUTHORIZATION:

AML STC SA02658SE

COMPLIANCE:

Mandatory: This STC Service Bulletin must be incorporated for affected installations and is warranty reimbursable.

PURPOSE:

When operating at low fuel, the GI275 fuel quantity gauges may indicate up to a four (4) gallon error if the GEA 24 is connected to a resistive fuel sender with a range of less than or equal to 100 ohms. The potential for this error is greater when the GEA 24 is subject to significantly hotter or colder temperatures than the temperature at which the fuel gauges were calibrated during installation.

This issue is described in Garmin Service Alert 20137.
