Changing the Screen Brightness on an Automotive Device/Dim or Black Screen
Some devices will not go above 40% brightness when they have low power. This FAQ may be helpful if your device has a black screen or a very dim screen. To correct this, start with the device disconnected from the magnetic mount, and turned on. Follow the instructions below.
The device may have a different brightness level set when it is mounted to the magnetic mount and another level set when removed from the magnetic mount. If the device goes dim when placed on the mount, follow steps 1-3 below before mounting it. Once it is mounted, if it goes dim, you can swipe right on the slider to brighten it using step 4.
Your device requires the brightness settings to be adjusted and saved separately while mounted to the magnetic mount, then adjusted again when not mounted.
To Change the Screen Brightness:
1. Touch Settings
2. Touch Display
3. Touch Brightness level
4. Adjust the brightness level according to your preference. The screen will dim to the selected brightness while moving the selector.
Your automotive device can switch between Day and Night color modes for better visibility in certain lighting conditions.
To Adjust the Color Mode:
- Open the device's Settings menu
- Touch Display
- Touch Theme
- Touch the desired color mode
The device will now use the chosen color mode.
Color Modes Available:
- Day - Provides a white background to improve visibility during daylight hours
- Night - Darkens the background to prevent the screen from being too bright or distracting when driving in the dark
- Automatic - Allows the device to automatically change the color mode based on sunrise and sunset times. This is the default color mode setting
