Installing the Latest Updates for Your Approach R50
Software for your Approach® R50 should be kept up-to-date in order to take advantage of improvements and bug fixes. Updates are easy to install on your device, see the options below to update the software on your Approach R50.

Checking for Updates
The Approach® R50 will download software updates automatically behind the scenes while your Approach is connected to Wi-Fi®. Generally, any released updates will take up to a week to download before automatically or prompting to install on your Approach. There are no steps required for you to take to obtain the latest software but you can manually check for updates directly on the device. Follow the steps below to check for updates on your device.
Press the menu button in the lower right corner of the screen.
Select Settings.
Select Software Update.
If there is an available update, select Download and Install.
Garmin Express
The Garmin Express™ program for your computer provides the ability to check for software updates automatically each time you connect your Approach R50 to the computer. Download Garmin Express for your computer: Garmin Express Software.
