Installing a microSD Card
IMPORTANT: Do not use a preloaded/preprogrammed map card while updating the TopoActive maps, even if the card has available space on it. Installing a map update onto a preloaded/preprogrammed card may corrupt or overwrite the original map files on the card.

Installing the Map Update
The TopoActive map is updated periodically throughout the year, usually in the spring and fall. For coverage of the TopoActive map, see Related .
Open Garmin Express program.
If you do not have the Garmin Express program already, you can download it from www.garmin.com/express.
Add a microSD card to the handheld before connecting it (see above).
Connect your handheld to the computer using a USB cable.
Follow the prompts to Add a Device or select your handheld by clicking on it.
Select Install or Install All when prompted.
Select Accept after reviewing the Terms and Conditions.
Select Continue after reviewing the Important Notes.
If a microSD card was already added to the handheld, it will automatically be detected by the Garmin Express program. Select Continue.
Once the update starts, the Garmin Express program will display the current progress. You will see an Updates complete! message when the update is finished.
Once complete, disconnect the handheld from the computer and power it on to make sure any software updates installed successfully. You may need to select Install on the device after disconnecting and powering it on to complete the updates.
