Using a Bare Wire CHIRP Transducer with a Garmin GPSMAP 5x7xs, 7x1xs, 8x0xs or 10x0xs Series Device

Most CHIRP transducers compatible with Garmin products are sold with a connector head installed on the transducer cable. However, some Airmar transducers have bare-wire cables that can be connected to compatible Garmin chartplotters using a Garmin 8-pin Wire Block Adapter (part number 010-11613-00).

The GPSMAP devices listed below are compatible with bare-wire transducers that operate at a single CHIRP frequency range:

  • GPSMAP 527xs

  • GPSMAP 547xs

  • GPSMAP 721xs

  • GPSMAP 741xs

  • GPSMAP 820xs

  • GPSMAP 840xs

  • GPSMAP 1020xs

  • GPSMAP 1040xs

  • GPSMAP 8600xsv series

  • GPSMAP 8400xsv series

  • GPSMAP 12x3xsv series

  • GPSMAP 9x3xsv series

  • GPSMAP 7x3xsv series

  • GPSMAP  10x2xsv series

  • GPSMAP 12x2xsv series

Compatible transducers will only have one letter after the transducer model number, such as B75L, TM150M, B175H, etc. For example, an Airmar B75H with bare wires is compatible with these devices because it only operates at the High CHIRP frequency band; the Airmar B265LH is not compatible because it is designed to operate at both the Low and High CHIRP frequency bands.

Go to the Garmin Transducer Selection Guide for more information about transducer compatibility.
