My Outdoor Handheld Automatically Starts Tracking When I Power it On

With default settings, most Garmin outdoor handhelds are designed to record track and trip data (distance, speed, etc.) when they are powered on and have a satellite connection. Tracking will show a line on the map of your handheld that can be used to see the path you have taken. You can change the settings on your outdoor handheld to turn off automatic recording of tracks. Refer to your Owner's Manual for instructions.
