What Options Do I Have to Interact with Notifications on a Garmin Watch?

Many Garmin watches allow you to interact with notifications that are sent from the smartphone they are paired to through the Garmin Connect™ app. Options listed below may vary based on model. For model specific options, refer to your owner's Manual.

iOS Notification Options

Available notification actions are listed below. The actions may vary with the operating system version of your paired smartphone.

• Incoming Calls: Answer or Decline

• Missed Calls: Dial (initiates call on phone), Clear

• Voicemail: Call Back (starts call on phone), Delete

• Text/SMS Messages: Clear

  • The option to respond to text messages from a watch is not available through iOS.

• Misc. Notifications (i.e. Facebook, etc): Clear

Android Notification Options

Available notification actions are listed below. The actions may vary with the operating system version of your paired smartphone.

• Incoming Calls: Answer, Decline, or Reply to decline the call and send a text message to the incoming caller

• Missed Calls: Clear/Dismiss, Call Back, Message (to send a text message to the missed caller), or Add Reminder (sets up a reminder that you missed a call on your phone for 1 hour after it is selected)

• Voicemail: Dismiss, Listen, Call, or Clear

• Text/SMS: Dismiss, Call, Reply, or Disable/Block App

  • Replying to a text message is a feature unique to watches paired to an Android phone. To customize reply options, see - Customizing Android Text Responses in the Garmin Connect App.
    

• Misc. Notifications (i.e. Facebook, etc): Dismiss or Disable/Block App (this will stop the app from sending notifications to your watch)

Why do Dismissed Notifications Reappear on my Garmin Device?

Dismissing a notification on a Garmin device does not mark the message as read on the phone. New notifications will include previously received messages resulting in repeated or duplicate notifications until the messages are marked as read on the phone.
