Writing a Message on the inReach Messenger
When using an inReach® Messenger satellite communicator, it is possible to compose messages through the Garmin Messenger™ app, or through the device itself. The instructions below will walk through the process of composing a new message or a reply to an existing conversation on an inReach Messenger device.
From the home screen, press
or 
to scroll through the main menu options.Select MESSAGES
, then select an option:Select New Message, then choose a recipient from your contacts list or select Type Contact to enter one recipient's contact information.
-OR-
Select a conversation, then select Reply.
Select Type Reply.
Press
or to scroll through the alphabet.Press OK to select a letter.
Continue typing letters to complete the message.
When you have finished your message, select
to send it.
The message will now be sent.
