Understanding the Alert Tones on the vivofit 2, 3, and 4

The vivofit 2, vivofit 3, and vivofit 4 have a built in audible tone feature that provides different alerts.

An audible beep will occur:

  • After one hour of inactivity.

  • After two hours of inactivity.

  • Move bar is cleared.

  • Start/Stop timer.

  • Every 30 minutes while timer is running.

  • After reaching your step goal.

The move alert can be customized on the device using Garmin Connect and Garmin Connect App. Select the correct option below depending on which way you would like to change this setting. 

NOTE: Turning off the alert tone will cause the device to no longer provide an audible tone for the different alert options.


To Turn On/off the Alert Tone Using the Garmin Connect App:

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Access the menu by selecting More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select your device.

  5. Select Device Settings.

  6. Move slider for Alert Tone to on/off position.

  7. Sync device with your smartphone to apply device settings.


To Turn On/off the Alert Tone Using Garmin Connect Web:

  1. Visit connect.garmin.com from a personal computer.

  2. Log into your account.

  3. Select Silhouette of a watch (upper right corner).

  4. Under Sounds & Alerts toggle Alert Tones to on/off position.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Sync device with your smartphone to apply device settings.
