Dismissing the Connect Sync Service Notification on My Phone

Android phones will notify you about apps running in the background:

The Garmin Connect™ app needs background access for connected features (like notifications, weather) and background data syncing to your account.

Steps to Turn Off This Notification

This dismisses the notification without affecting the app's background operation.

1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

2. Select More (bottom right).

3. Select Settings.

4. Select Phone Permissions.

5. Select Manage Permissions.

6. Select Notifications.

7. If present select Notification categories.

8. Uncheck or toggle off Device Connectivity.

Now I Am Seeing a Battery Usage Message

Seeing a notification about Garmin Connect using battery resources is expected, as all background Android apps affect phone battery life.

Steps to Hide the Battery Usage Notification:

1. From the phone, swipe down from the top to display your notifications.

2. Press and hold the Battery notification, then select the option to turn it off.

3. Select Done.

Why Does the Connect Sync Service Notification Pop Back Up?

The notification may return after rebooting your phone; opening the Garmin Connect app dismisses it.
