AutoLocate Feature
If your eTrex 10, 20(x), 22x, 30(x), or 32x will not acquire satellites, you may need to perform an AutoLocate. It's possible the device may have acquired some corrupt satellite data, preventing it from functioning properly. An AutoLocate will clear existing satellite data and force the device to acquire new data.
Using the AutoLocate Feature on you eTrex 10,20(x), 22x, 30(x), or 32x
- Power on the device.
- Select Satellite on the Main Menu.
- Press Menu.
- Select AutoLocate Position.
NOTE: If the device has already acquired a satellite signal, the AutoLocate Position option will not appear. Turning off GPS and turning it back on may allow time for the AutoLocate Position to reappear.
Following the steps above, place the device somewhere with a clear view of the sky for 15-20 minutes. This will ensure your device has adequate time to acquire satellite data.
If you continue to encounter issues or would like to reset additional data, see the related content.
