Recovery Loader Ready displayed on a GPSMAP 74xx, GPSMAP 76xx, or GPSMAP 8xxx Series Chartplotter
If the message Recovery Loader Ready displays on a GPSMAP® 74xx chartplotter | GPSMAP® 76xx chartplotter | GPSMAP® 8xxx chartplotter during its boot sequence, try the following steps to correct the issue:
Disconnect the affected chartplotter from the NMEA 2000 network
Disconnect the affected chartplotter from the Garmin marine network
Power the system back on; if the message clears determine which cable/s is damaged (see step four)
Plug one cable in at a time and power cycle each time. Remove the first cable and try the second cable to determine faulty cable. Replace affected cable
If the affected chartplotter is a GPSMAP 8xxx series, connect a Garmin® Card Reader directly to the chartplotter using a marine network cable
If the message doesn't clear, perform a "forced update" software update (see Related Content)
If the error message appears on a CL7 device there are a few things to check:
If a third-party device is connected to the Garmin Marine Network. Only Garmin devices are compatible with the Garmin Marine Network. Disconnect any third-party network devices
If multiple Garmin chartplotters on the Garmin Marine Network are connected to different power grounding sources. Check that the CL7 Display is connected to the same power ground as other Garmin chartplotters on the Garmin Marine Network. If separate batteries are used for the devices, connect the power ground cables together
If a power over ethernet (PoE) device is connected to the Garmin Marine Network without a PoE isolation coupler. Install a PoE isolation coupler between the PoE device and the Garmin Marine Network. A PoE isolation coupler is available from Garmin
If a device connected to the Garmin Marine Network has failed. Disconnect devices from the Garmin Marine Network until the error is resolved. Replace a failed Garmin Marine Network device if necessary
If the above steps do not correct the issue, contact Garmin Support for assistance.
