Fitting a DC 50, T 5, TT 10 or TT 15 Collar to a Small Dog

Some dogs may have a smaller neck and it may be difficult to get a snug fit with the collar straps on Garmin tracking and/or training collars.

To adjust the collar strap to fit a smaller dog:

      1. Remove the collar strap from the collar
      2. Hold the device with the Garmin logo towards the top and the area that would rest against the dog’s neck pointing away from you
      3. Start on the right side of the main housing box (larger of the two boxes)
      4. Feed the strap through all four loops
      5. Next, feed strap through GPS sensor housing (smaller box)
      6. If desired feed strap through antenna keeper (optional)

The collar strap will now be able to be fed through the buckle, allow access to additional buckle holes.

A smaller collar loop with not interfere with the operation or signal of the device. The angle of the antenna will be lower than before, but it should be out of the way of the dog. The collar can be cut to remove the excess length if necessary.

As another alternative Garmin offers the Alpha T20 and Alpha TT25 dog tracking collars. These devices have are designed fit smaller dogs and have similar features to the previous full-sized collars.
