How to Activate a North American FM Traffic Subscription

If you have purchased a HERE FM traffic subscription (Garmin Traffic), follow the steps below for activation and entering your traffic subscription unlock codes.

NOTE: If your device came with a traffic subscription, the activation occurs automatically and the steps below are not necessary.

To Activate a Traffic Subscription:

1. Connect your Garmin device to the computer

2. Open Garmin Express

3. Select the device from the list

• • Select Add a Device If the device is not listed

4. Click Tools & Content

5. Click on the Purchased tab

6.  Click Sign In 

7.  Enter your email and password, then click Sign In again

8. Click Activate next to the desired traffic subscription

9.  Unlock Codes will generate and further instructions will be sent to the email associated with your Garmin account. Click Close or Generate new unlock codes (if needed)

10. Open your Garmin account email for steps to add the unlock codes and activate the traffic subscription on your gps device
