Transom Mounted Garmin LiveScope Has Missing Returns
The LiveScope™ transducer has three arrays that generate separate beams for the different sections of the overall LiveScope view. If one of the arrays receives cavitation, the bubbles will prevent that array from working correctly and may create gaps in the overall return on the screen. Adjustments to the transducer angle may reduce the cavitation. If that does not help, operate the LiveScope transducer at lower speeds.
The ClearVü™ Down scanning technology and Traditional sonar will also work at the max speed tested. Depth tracking at speed will depend on water depth and installation. Having the horizontal transducer face at an angle so that the back is slightly lower than the front will help improve the sonar image at speed
The transducer face with the arrow pointing to it below should be treated like the bottom of a standard transom mount transducer
