Minn Kota i-Pilot and Motor Guide Autopilot Compatibility with Garmin

The newer MinnKota i-Pilot and Motor Guide trolling motors have some autopilot features built-in. A commonly asked question is can these trolling motors be controlled by Garmin chartplotters? The answer is no. The i-Pilot and Motor Guide trolling motors use a proprietary user interface third-party chartplotters and cannot send NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 navigation information. Minn Kota and Motor Guide trolling motor manufacturers may add NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 compatibility in the future.
