How to Locate the Serial Number or Unit ID on a Garmin Watch

Every Garmin® watch will have a unique serial number and unit ID number to identify it. Instructions are provided below to help you locate your serial number or unit ID.

Finding the Serial Number

The serial number is a combination of 9 letters or numbers, without spaces or dashes, printed on the watch. The location of the serial number varies by model. Select an option below to reveal examples.


On the Back of the Watch

Finding the Unit ID

The Unit ID is a 10 digit number found in the system information of the watch. This can typically be found in the About screen. For steps to find your About screen, see your owner's manual and search for "Viewing Device Information".

The Unit ID can also be found in the Garmin Connect™ app if your device is listed. Follow the instructions below to locate the Unit ID: 

NOTE: The steps below will work even if your device is listed as "Not Connected".

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Access the menu by selecting More (bottom right). 

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Press and hold the screen where the name of your device is listed.

    • iOS: will display Device ID.

    • Android: will display Unit ID.
