How to use the fuel gauge on a zumo 400 or 500 series

Garmin's zumo devices allow fuel usage to be tracked. The accuracy of the fuel gauge is based on the accuracy of the information entered. When tracking fuel usage, the zumo will produce both an audible and visual alert when fuel is low.

Before fuel tracking can be enabled, the device must be in motorcycle mode and placed in the motorcycle mount.

To set the distance per tank:

  1. Touch View Map
  2. Touch the data field that displays speed
  3. Touch Reset
  4. Touch Miles Per Tank
  5. Touch Ok
  6. Enter the average miles per tank of gas
    • The zumo will display an alert when the fuel level reaches 30 miles (48km)

  7. Touch Done

When the low fuel alert appears on the map screen, nearby fueling stations can be pulled up by pressing the fuel pump icon. Once the tank has been refilled, reset the fuel gauge so tracking remains accurate.

To reset the fuel gauge:

  1. Touch View Map
  2. Touch the data field that displays speed
  3. Touch Reset
  4. Touch Fuel Gauge
  5. Touch Yes

The device will begin tracking fuel again.
