Why Is My Workout Missing or Skipping Steps?
Garmin® has recently become aware of an issue where some workouts may not work correctly, such as missing or skipping steps. The issue can affect Garmin Coach plans, training plans and workouts made in the Garmin Connect™ app or Garmin Connect™ platform on the web, or workouts from other tools like TrainingPeaks.
While we work to resolve this, try one of the workarounds available.
Custom or Third-Party Workouts
Deleting the workout from the watch and re-sending the workout should resolve the issue. Follow the steps below on how to delete and re-send workouts to your watch.
Deleting a Workout From a Watch
Press START/STOP to access the Activity Menu.
Select the activity you wish to delete a workout from.
If you are experiencing an issue with Garmin Coach workouts, this can be resolved by rescheduling the workout to another day, then moving it back to the scheduled day. This will prompt Garmin Connect to re-send all scheduled workouts from the watch.
Rescheduling a Garmin Coach Workout Using the Garmin Connect App
From the left-hand navigation menu select Training & Planning.
Select Training Plans.
Select your Garmin Coach plan.
Select an upcoming workout.
Select Reschedule from the inset details window.
Select a day to reschedule the workout.
Select Reschedule.
Sync your watch to update the plan.
Repeat the steps above to move the workout back to the original day, if desired.
Self-Guided Training Plans
If you are having issues with workouts from a self-guided training plan, you will need to use Garmin Connect from a computer to reschedule your workouts.
