Understanding and Using the MARQ Series Power Manager

Power Manager offers various settings to manage battery use. These features include Battery Saver, Power Mode, and Battery Alerts. Battery Saver controls everyday settings, such as backlight, smartphone connection, or optical heart rate. Power Modes allow you to set these features for use for individual activity profiles. Battery Alerts will let you know when your battery is getting low. To learn more, select an option below.

IMPORTANT

Keep the following in mind when using Power Modes or the Battery Saver.

Turning on Battery Saver, or using a Power Mode, will stop certain features from working. The features impacted will depend on the settings of the Power Mode or Battery Saver.

For instance, if Bluetooth is disabled in your Power Mode or Battery Saver, you will not be able to do the following: pair the watch, listen to music through Bluetooth headphones, sync with the Garmin Connect app, receive smart notifications, get weather information, or any other number of features that require a Bluetooth connection. Or, turning off Wrist Heart Rate will stop your watch from taking PulseOx readings, obtaining a new VO2 Max, recording sleep metrics, or any other features that require Wrist Heart Rate.

Customizing Battery Saver

Battery Saver is designed for you to quickly change some settings of your watch to improve the overall estimated battery life. This is good for conserving battery while not recording activities.

  3. Select Battery Saver
    • Toggling the Status can turn ON or OFF Battery Saver Mode
  4. Select and adjust additional features to customize Battery Saver to your needs
    • Watch Face can be set to Low Power, saving additional power by only updating the watch face once per a minute
    • Music can be enable or disabled, allowing for usage of the music player or not
    • Phone can enable or disable the smartphone connection
    • Activity Tracking will enable or disable all-day activity tracking features, such as: sleep tracking, step recording, floors climbed, intensity minutes, and MoveIQ events
    • Wrist Heart Rate will enable or disable the optical heart rate sensor
    • Pulse Oximeter will enable or disable all-day acclimation mode1
    • Backlight will enable or disable the watch's backlight

With each change you make, the watch will display an estimate of how the battery life of your watch will change while in Battery Saver mode.

Preset Power Modes
  • Max Battery turns off all customizable power features and sets GPS recording to Ultratrac to provide the longest time between charges.
  • Jacket Mode will disable wrist heart rate but will not make changes to other settings. This mode is designed for when you may not be wearing the watch on your wrist.
Customizing Power Modes

Power Modes allow you to quickly adjust system settings, activity settings, and GPS settings to extend battery life during an activity. You can create several different Power Modes based on your needs, and apply them to activities to help conserve battery.

  1. Hold Menu
  2. Select Power Manager2

    • Example: Select Phone to enable or disable smartphone connection when in the specific Power Mode
  6. Select Done when finished making changes if prompted

With each change you make, the watch will display an estimate of how the battery life of your watch will change while in the selected Power Mode mode.
