Many of Garmin's automotive devices will provide a visual alert when you exceed the speed limit. Some devices will also have the ability to emit an audible alert when the locale is set to any European country1.
Devices that currently provide an audible speed alert are as follows:
1If any of the above devices' locale are set to any country outside of Europe (including the United States), the device will not provide audible speed alerts. A non-European device when set to Europe locale may emit audible speed alerts, but it is not guaranteed.
To change the locale for any of the above devices:
When using a European locale, the audible speed alert on the above devices may be disabled or enabled as desired.
To turn audible speed alerts on or off on the nuvi 55, 56, 57, 58, 65, 66, 67, 68, 2405, 2407, 2408 2505, 2507, 2508, 2509, 2609, 2707, 2708, 2709, 3400, 3500, 3507, 3508 series, dezl 570, 760, 770, and Camper/RV 760:
To turn audible speed alerts on or off on the dezl 560, nuvi 2200, 2300, 2400 series, and the LIVE 2300 series:
The following devices will display a visual alert when you exceed the posted speed limit:
If you are going over the speed limit while using one of the above series of devices, your current driving speed will display in red text or the speed limit data field will turn red.1
Garmin does offer a free application called POI Loader that allows you to load custom points of interest to your device.
