Using a Tempe Sensor with an Alpha 300 or Alpha 300i
The tempe™ is a wireless temperature sensor that measures and transmits temperature data to compatible Garmin outdoor devices.
There are two main steps for its use:
- The tempe will need to be paired to the wireless Sensor settings in the handheld
- A data field will need to be enabled on one of several possible tools in the system. These data fields that can appear on the map, compass, trip computer or various other dashboards.
To Pair the tempe with the Alpha® 300 or Alpha® 300i
- Select
from the Main Menu
- Select Sensors
- Select Tempe Sensor
- Select On
- The Tempe Sensor setting will display Searching while looking for the sensor and will show Connected when successfully paired.
Enabling and Editing a Data Field to Display the Temperature on the Trip Computer
- Select Navigation from the Main Menu
- Select Trip Computer
- Select one of the fields you wish to change/edit
- Select the category Current Status
- Select Temperature
- Select the three bars Menu
- Select Lock Data Fields
The current temperature should now display in that data field.
Note: other tools in the system such as the Map and Compass can have their data fields enabled and edited to show the temperature as well
