Changing the USB Weather Cap on a Garmin Edge

Replacing the Weather Cap

A small Phillips screwdriver is needed for this process. Select your device for the correct steps.


Most Edge Models

  1. Use the screwdriver to remove the screw under the weather cap.

  2. Remove the screw retainer clip, screw, and damaged weather cap.

  3. Tip over the Edge to remove any broken off weather cap material.

  4. Place the new screw retainer clip onto the new weather cap rubber tip.

  5. Insert the assembled weather cap to the back of the Edge.

  6. Insert the new screw and tighten with the screwdriver.


Edge 510, 520/520 Plus, 820, 820 Explore,1000, Explore, Explore 1000

  1. Use the screwdriver to remove the screw under the weather cap.

  2. Remove the washer, screw, and damaged weather cap.

  3. Tip over the Edge to remove any broken off weather cap material.

  4. Place the new screw through the washer and into the hole on the new weather cap.

  5. Insert the assembled weather cap to the back of the Edge.

  6. Tighten the screw with the screwdriver.


Edge 800, 810, Touring/Touring Plus

  1. Use the screwdriver to remove the screws on top of the weather cap.

  2. Remove the screws and damaged weather cap.

  3. Tip over the Edge to remove any broken off weather cap material.

  4. Place the new weather cap in place.

  5. Insert the new screws and tighten with the screwdriver.
