Updating Software on the aera 760

Installing the aera 760 Software using Wi-Fi:

The aera® 760 aviation portable will check for software updates when connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi. Software downloads can be either user-initiated or configured to automatically download as updates become available.

User-Initiated Software Download/Install:

  1. From the Main Menu, touch Tools.

  2. Touch Downloads.

  3. Touch Menu.

  4. Touch Software Downloads.

  5. Touch the desired software update and touch Next.

  6. Read the Software License Agreement and touch Agree and Install.

Enabling Automated Software Downloading:

  1. If Automatic Software Downloading is currently disabled, from the Main Menu, touch Tools

  2. Touch Downloads.

  3. Touch Menu.

  4. Touch Software Downloads.

  5. Touch Menu.

  6. Touch Yes.


Automated Software Download/Install:

  1. From the Update Software window, touch Yes to view the update.

  2. Touch the desired software update and touch Next.

  3. Read the Software License Agreement and touch Agree and Install.


Installing the aera 760 Software using WebUpdater

Important: If this is your first time using a computer with your aera 760, then you will need to download and install the Webupdater program.

  1. Connect your aera 760 to your computer with the USB cable.

  2. Launch the WebUpdater program.

  3. When the WebUpdater Wizard window opens, select Next to continue.

  4. Once your device is found by the computer, select Next.

  5. The following page will display what new software version is available for your device. Select Next to review the software release notes.

  6. Once you review the software release notes, select Next to review the software change history.

  7. Select Next to review the License Agreement.

  8. Check the box to agree to the terms and conditions and select Next to begin the software update installation. Please do not unplug your device from the computer while the update is happening.

  9. Once the software update is finished, select Next to see if there are additional updates available for your device. You can also select Cancel if you wish to be finished.

  10. You may now safely eject your device from the computer.
