Disabling McAfee Antivirus and Firewall Protection
To temporarily disable McAfee antivirus and firewall protection on your computer due to an error in the Chart Installer software, follow the steps indicated below for your computers OS.
Windows Users
Open your McAfee software, such as LiveSafe or Total Protection.
On the left menu, click the My Protection tab.
Click Real-Time Scanning.
Click Turn off.
In the Turn off dialog, select when you want Real-Time Scanning to resume, then click Turn off.
Click the PC tile, or click the settings gear icon at the top-right corner.
Click the Firewall tile, or the Firewall menu option.
Click Turn Off.
NOTE: Remember to enable Firewall after you complete your actions. To enable Firewall, follow the previous steps and turn on Firewall.
Mac Users
Open your McAfee software, such as LiveSafe or Total Protection.
On the left menu, click the My Protection tab.
Click Real-Time Scanning.
Click the lock at the bottom of the Real-Time Scanning dialog, and type your password when prompted.
To disable Real-Time Scanning, turn off the Real-Time Scanning toggle.
In the Turn off dialog, select when you want Real-Time Scanning to resume, then click Turn off.
Right-click the McAfee M icon in the menu bar.
Click (product name) Console. For example, LiveSafe Console.
Click Mac Security, or click the gear icon at the top-right corner.
Click the lock to make changes, then type your password.
Click the slider to turn off the Firewall.
Click the lock again to prevent further changes.
NOTE: Remember to enable Real-Time Scanning and Firewall after you complete your actions. To enable Real-Time Scanning, follow the previous steps and turn both back on.
Close the Chart Installer software and then reopen it to refresh the screen and proceed to start the download again.
