Incorrect Date and Timestamp on the Garmin Dash Cam 10

See below if a video on a Garmin Dash Cam 10 has the wrong time or date.

Ensure the system software on the Dash Cam is up-to-date before troubleshooting. The latest system software can be installed using Garmin Express. See below to ensure the device is properly configured after updating.

Check the Date and Time Setting:

  1. Press the button below the Settings icon
  2. Scroll down to Date and Time
  3. Press the button below OK
  4. Use the arrow buttons to adjust the time and date
    • Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to adjust fields
    • Use the OK button to cycle between data fields
  5. Press the button beneath the back arrow once the time and date are accurate

Check the Daylight Saving Setting:

  1. Press the button below the Settings icon
  2. Scroll down to Daylight saving
  3. Press the button below OK to enable or disable the feature

Daylight savings time is not automatically calculated, so this feature should only be enabled during daylight savings periods of the year (March to November in most regions). The setting should be disabled when outside of daylight savings time, or in areas not observing this practice.

If this Fails to Resolve the Problem, Follow the Steps Below to Restore the Settings on the Dash Cam:

Note: Completing the steps below will restore all settings to their default values.

  1. Press the button below the Settings icon
  2. Scroll up and select Restore Default Settings, and press the button below OK
  3. Press the button below OK to confirm the Restore
  4. Select your Country and Time Zone
  5. After completing the restore, hold down the power button  to reboot the device

The device should display the correct time on newly recorded videos after completing the steps above.
