Creating Routes Using Custom Points of Interest on Automotive Devices with Trip Planner

Trip Planner is an application that is used for creating routes on certain Garmin automotive devices. These devices will also support the use of loading Custom Points of Interest (POIs) that are downloaded from the Internet. To create a route made up of Custom POIs on devices with Trip Planner, some devices require the Custom POI to be saved first as a favorite:

To save a Custom POI as a favorite:

1. Touch Where To?
2. Touch Extras
3. Touch the file name of the saved Custom POIs
4. Touch the Custom POI to be saved
5. Touch the menu button (three horizontal bars)
6. Touch Save
7. Touch OK

The Custom POI will now be saved as a favorite and can be added to a custom route using Trip Planner.

To create a custom route with a saved Custom POI:

1. Touch Where To? or Tools
2. Touch Trip Planner
3. Touch the menu button (three horizontal bars)
4. Touch the + button (add new route)
5. Touch Select Start Location
6. Touch Favorites
7. Touch the desired saved Custom POI
8. Touch Select
9. Repeat steps 3-9 as necessary to create route
10. Touch Next
11. Enter a name for the route
12. Touch Done

The custom route has now been created.
