Unable to Pair Select Garmin Watches With iPhones

We recently introduced an easier way to pair your Garmin watch to your iOS smartphone or tablet. The new pairing process may fail if you select "Pair" on your smartphone when prompted to complete the pairing.

We have found that accepting the pairing on the watch, by pressing the Start/Stop button and then selecting "Pair" on the phone, will complete the process. Alternatively, you can place the watch in pairing mode, and then select "Pair" on the phone and the pairing will complete. Refer to your owner's manual for steps on placing the watch in pairing mode. 

Impacted Garmin Watches

  • D2™ Mach 1
  • Enduro™ 2
  • epix™ (gen) 2 series
  • fēnix® 7 series
  • tactix® 7 series

This should only happen when when the following criteria are met:

  • iOS device that has the Garmin Connect™ app installed
  • The watch is in the Garmin Devices list in the Garmin Connect app
  • The pairing process has not been started on the watch
  • The watch is not in the Bluetooth device list of the phone or tablet

We are currently working on software fixes to get this feature functioning as planned.
