Transferring Tracks & Waypoints to a Garmin Tread Series from An Alpha 200/300 Series
To transfer data to your Tread® GPS Navigator or any model in the Tread® series, from your Alpha® 200, Alpha 200 Plus, or Alpha 300 series dog tracking handheld, you will need to install the Garmin Explore™ App as well as the Garmin Tread™ App to your compatible smartphone or tablet.
Pairing the Alpha with the Garmin Explore App
Enabling Bluetooth on the Alpha® Handheld
- Select Setup.
- Select Bluetooth.
- Select Continue.
Pairing to the Garmin Explore App
- Open and sign in to the Garmin Explore app on the smartphone:
- Select Pair Device on the first screen prompt.
- NOTE: If you are not prompted to pair, touch
Devices at the bottom of the screen, then touch Pair Device or +.
- NOTE: If you are not prompted to pair, touch
- Select the Alpha category.
- Select your model of Alpha handheld
- The app will present a list of potential nearby Bluetooth devices that are transmitting or already in the Bluetooth list.
- Select your Alpha model
- After several moments the Alpha and the smartphone will both show a passkey number to verify the correct device being paired.
- A Bluetooth Pairing Request notification will pop over the app, touch Okay to confirm the pairing request.
- On the smartphone, touch Continue to finish the pairing process.
- On the Alpha handheld, touch Done.

Syncing Your Devices
Once your Alpha handheld syncs with the Garmin Explore app and transfers the waypoints and tracks to the Explore Library, that data will then get shared with the Tread App. Syncing the Tread with the Tread App after syncing the Alpha handheld will transfer that data to the Tread.
