Setting up the Right Middle Shortcut Button

The middle button on the following watches serves two functions depending on if you short press or long press the button:

  • Venu® 2 Plus

  • Venu® 3 | Venu® 3S

  • D2™ Air X10

Long Press Middle Button

A long press activates the voice assistant feature on the watch. To learn more see: Setting Up Voice Assistant on Your Garmin Watch.


Short Press Middle Button

A short press of the button can be set to control one of the following functions:

  • Music Controls

  • Save Location

  • Alarms

  • Stopwatch

  • Timer

  • Brightness

  • Wallet

  • Voice Assistant

  • Phone Calling

  • Dial Pad

  • Contacts

  • Volume

Setting up Shortcut Control the First Time

Follow the steps below to set up this feature on your watch.

  1. Press the middle right button once

  2. Swipe up

  3. Select Setup

  4. Select the function you would like for the button

    • Selecting "Disable" will disable the single press function

Changing the Shortcut Control Setting

Select your watch and follow the steps if you have previously set up this feature and want to change what the button controls.


Venu 2 Plus | D2 Air X10

  1. Press the middle right button once

  2. Press and hold the lower right button

  3. Select Shortcut settings

  4. Select the function you want


Venu 3 | Venu 3S

  1. Press and hold the lower right button

  2. Select Settings 

  3. Select Shortcut

  4. Select the function you want


I Previously Disabled the Shortcut Control Feature

If you selected Disable you can reenable the button by following these steps (you can also swap the functions of the buttons in the following menu):

  1. From the clock face, press and hold the lower right button

  2. Scroll to and select Settings or black Gear icon

  3. Select Shortcut

  4. Select Button Tap or Button Hold

  5. Select the function you want
