Correct the Locked Maps Message on a Kenwood DNX5120

If your Kenwood DNX5120 is displaying a message that the maps are locked, then you will need to perform a software update on your device. To update the system software in your device:

1. Visit http://www.garmin.com/kenwood

2. Click Update under Product Updates

 

 

3. Click DNX5120

 

 

4. Click Software Updates

 

 

5. Click Get Latest Kenwood Software Instructions

    • This document will provide you with step-by-step instructions for installing the update

 

 

6. Click Get Latest Kenwood Software

    • The software update file will begin to download 

 

 

7. Follow the downloaded instructions to complete the update 


After updating the software your Kenwood DNX5120 should no longer display a message that the maps are locked.
