Clear the Browser History, Cache, Temporary Internet Files, or Open a Private Window on a Desktop or Laptop Computer

Occasionally it may be necessary to clear the web browser history, cache, and temporary Internet files to correct a display, upload, or download issue. It may also be necessary to use a private browsing window.

Safari (Mac)

Safari (PC)

  1. Click Edit in the menu bar.

    • Safari 5.1.7 (PC): By default, the menu bar containing the Edit menu is displayed. If it is hidden, click the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner and click Show Menu Bar.

  2. Click Empty Cache.

  3. Click the Empty button to confirm.

  4. Click History in the menu bar.

  5. Click Clear History.

  6. Click the Clear button to confirm.


After clearing the history, cache, and temporary Internet files, restart the web browser. The web page should display correctly and transfers to or from Garmin web pages should complete successfully.
