Setting a Prefix or Suffix for Waypoint Names on the Montana 700 Series

By default, when a new waypoint is created it is automatically named with a number (0001 as the first saved waypoint, 0002 as the second waypoint, and so on). However, the Montana® 700 series outdoor handhelds allow you to enter a custom prefix or suffix for automatically naming waypoints.

Customizing the Prefix or Suffix of Automatically Named Waypoints

1. Select  to access the main menu.

2. Select Setup.

3. Select Waypoints.

4. Select an option:

   • Prefix Enabled: Select to enable or disable custom prefixes.

   • Prefix: This option appears when Prefix Enabled is set to Yes. Select this option use the on-screen keyboard to enter a custom waypoint prefix.

   • Suffix: This option allows you to choose a new number to start sequential numbering of new waypoint names. Select this option and use the on-screen keyboard to enter a custom waypoint suffix.
