Maximize battery life while recording in 1080p with a VIRB X or XE

Various settings on the VIRB X/XE device will affect the battery life while recording video. Enabling GPS, image stabilization, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, ANT+, and other settings can decrease the battery life of the device.

To maximize battery life while still recording in 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second:

1. Reset settings to defaults
   1. Press and hold the Up/Menu button
   2. Select System
   3. Select Reset Settings
2. Ensure the following settings are turned off
   • GPS
   • Wi-Fi
   • Bluetooth
   • ANT+
   • Record Light
   • Tones
3. Set Video Mode to HD Video
4. Set Resolution to 1080p
5. Set FPS to 30fps
6. Set the Stabilizer to On

These settings help maximize battery life while still recording a high quality video. As each setting can affect battery life differently, it may be possible to experiment with them to find the best balance of performance and video quality.
