Turning Off Navigation Prompts on Automotive Devices
Navigation prompts are the verbal turn-by-turn directions the device provides when on a route. Some automotive devices will allow you to mute the navigation prompts only.
To Turn Off the Navigation Prompts on These Devices:
- Touch the Volume icon on the Where To? View Map screen
- Touch the Wrench icon or slider icon
- Touch Audio Mixer1
- Skip this step on some devices
- Slide the Navigation volume bar all the way to left
- Touch and hold the Back arrow to return to the Where To? View Map screen
This will turn off any voice prompts while navigating a route.

Set your phone to Find Me/Discoverable Mode before you begin pairing your Bluetooth-enabled GPS device with your cell phone.
Use the Following Steps to Enable Bluetooth if Necessary:
- Touch Settings
- Touch Bluetooth
- Check the box next to Bluetooth if no check mark is present
The Bluetooth will now be enabled on your device.
To Pair and Connect the Phone with the Device:
- Touch Settings
- Touch Bluetooth
- Touch Add Phone
- Touch OK on the message prompting you to set your phone to Find Me or Discoverable mode
- Touch the name of the desired phone from the list of compatible Bluetooth devices in the area
- Touch OK
- Enter the passkey displayed, if prompted
A message should display about the Garmin device successfully pairing with the phone. The device and phone will automatically connect when they are within range and have Bluetooth enabled.
