Using the Approach G80 Without a Ball

You are able to use the Approach® G80 golf device without a ball to get club head speed and swing tempo data only.1 Other data, such as carry distance, will not be given when a ball is not hit. You may want to use the Approach G80 device without hitting a ball if you are working on your swing tempo, speed training, or to get a better idea how your practice swings are going.

To get readings without hitting a ball, the Approach G80 device must be positioned as if you were hitting a ball, see Positioning the Approach G80 for using Radar Features.

Stats Given Without Hitting a Ball

  • Swing Tempo
  • Club Head Speed

1 The Approach G80's software must be up to date to use this feature.
