Database Sync Improvements for GTN Xi, TXi, and GI 275 Avionics
As part of our continuing efforts to increase the capabilities and performance of our products, we have released software updates to improve the Database Sync functionality between the GTN™ Xi, TXi™, and GI 275 avionics units.
Improvements include:
A Database Sync update process that can now transfer data between units up to 10x faster, from 10 Megabits per second (Mbps) to 100 Mbps.
A coordinated restart of the avionics units, whereby a prompt will appear on the unit to restart all the displays that have received a database update. This will eliminate the need for power cycling the avionics for current database updates to take effect. This will also allow for power to the primary communication unit to stay functional during Database Sync transfers.
All warnings, with respect to databases being out-of-sync, will now appear on the primary display. This will reduce pilot verification of database installation by centralizing database warning messages on one device.

Minimum Main Software Version Required for Improved Database Sync Functionality
Device Software Version GI 275 2.60 GTN Xi 20.30 TXi 3.20
Avionics with certain software versions will no longer be able to perform a Database Sync update because of the previously mentioned updates. Those devices that are described in the table below can still accept updates by putting the databases directly onto their respective SD cards. This limitation will be fixed in future GTN 6XX/7XX and GPS 175/GNC 355/GNX 375 software versions:

Unit sending data: GPS 175 GPS Navigator/ GNC® 355 radio / GNX™ 375 IFR Navigator Transponder with a software version 3.12 or lower
Unit Receiving Data: TXi with a software version 3.50 and higher

Database Sync limitations between GTN and GTN Xi units:
A GTN Xi software version 20.30 or later can transfer databases to a GTN legacy software version 6.72 or lower.
A GTN legacy software version 6.72 or lower cannot transfer databases to a GTN Xi with a software version 20.30 or later. This will be corrected in a future software update for GTN legacy units.
